Faq Häufig gestellte Fragen
1. Welche Lacke werden bei der Restaurierung der Möbel verwendet, sodass diese einen so schönen Hochglanz erhalten?
– Biedermeier & Empire furniture is elaborately hand-polished with shellac using old methods, which results in an incomparable deepening effect of the veneer grain.
– Art Deco & Bauhaus furniture are usually lacquered in several layers with hard piano lacquers (2 component lacquers made of polyurethane or polyester) using a spray gun and then polished.
The 2K-surface coatings we use are saliva- and sweat-proof according to DIN 53160 and meet the requirements for kitchen surfaces and children’s toys.
2. Wie pflege ich die Lack-Oberflächen optimal?
For shellac surfaces we recommend the Swiss woodcare products from Renuwell, which you can also buy from us in the COLONEUM shop. With shellac surfaces, you should also not place any hot objects and wipe away water immediately.
In the case of antique wooden furniture, we also strongly recommend that you keep 50-60% relative humidity to avoid cracks and bends.
The piano lacquer surfaces are hard lacquers and therefore less sensitive to heat and water. You can easily spray and wipe them with a glass cleaner.
