Set of two Bauhaus / Mid-Century armchairs with bent armrests by Gelenka from Germany, circa 1950.
- Curved beech wood armrests.
- Seat and back with solid beech wood with slats pushed on rubber bands.
- Restored condition, stabilized and refinished with shellac.
- Excellent seating comfort.
- Manufacturer: Gelenka-Patentmöbelfabrik, Wolfhagen & Emil Plarre, Leipzig.
- Date: 1940s-1960s.
- Design: Ernst Breitenborn and often also attributed to Erich Dieckmann.
- From a series of winter garden furniture, probably built between 1953–58.
- 1 chair per pair is signed.
- We have two pairs (four chairs in total) of this model with curved armrests, as well as another pair with straight armrests available.
