Set of two Bauhaus / Mid-Century armchairs with bent armrests by Gelenka from Germany, circa 1950.

  • Curved beech wood armrests.
  • Seat and back with solid beech wood with slats pushed on rubber bands.
  • Restored condition, stabilized and refinished with shellac.
  • Excellent seating comfort.
  • Manufacturer: Gelenka-Patentmöbelfabrik, Wolfhagen & Emil Plarre, Leipzig.
  • Date: 1940s-1960s.
  • Design: Ernst Breitenborn and often also attributed to Erich Dieckmann.
  • From a series of winter garden furniture, probably built between 1953–58.
  • 1 chair per pair is signed.
  • We have two pairs (four chairs in total) of this model with curved armrests, as well as another pair with straight armrests available.
