Pair of Bauhaus / Mid-Century armchairs by Gelenka from Germany, circa 1950.

  • Slightly curved beech wood armrests.
  • Seat and back with solid beech wood with slats pushed on rubber bands.
  • Restored condition, stabilized and refinished with shellac.
  • Excellent seating comfort.
  • Manufacturer: Gelenka-Patentmöbelfabrik, Wolfhagen & Emil Plarre, Leipzig.
  • Design: Ernst Breitenborn and often also attributed to Erich Dieckmann.
  • Execution: 1940s-1960s, from a series of winter garden furniture, probably built between 1953–58.
