AD-SB-407 Art Deco Sideboard with Lion Appliqués, Black Lacquer and Chrome, France circa 1930

Description

Spectacular original, restored Art Deco Sideboard or Buffet from France around 1930.

  • Walnut body, black piano lacquer in several layers, high gloss polished.
  • On the doors 2 large (36 x 18 cm) cast, chased and chrome-plated appliqués with a lion and a lioness. Both appliqués are engraved signed “BENNES”.
  • On the outside 2 hinged doors with 2 compartments for bottles and glasses, held at the front with a thick stainless steel band. Inside in ash veneer and lacquered.
  • In the center are two small doors with original handles in bluish glass, closing by tongue and groove.
  • In the middle inside, there is a drawer with chrome handle and inlaid bands on the front, underneath with open compartments and a shelf with the same inlay on the front edge.
  • Doors inside in ash veneer and high gloss lacquered. 
  • Polished stainless steel decorative trim around the top and a thick trim around the bottom center of the plinth.
  • Fully restored condition.
