Classic Art Deco motif of a dancing woman wearing floral-adorned skimpy clothing and a tight-fitting bonnet, which was typical of the clothing of the 1920s–30s. During the Golden Twenties, Ferdinand Preiss was influenced by a variety of factors, above all the rich cultural life of Berlin and its colorful nightlife with its dance revues, but also images from international magazines. The atmosphere in Berlin was extremely liberal, and the city was the place to be when it came to nightlife entertainment, as depicted in the modern series “Babylon Berlin,” which is set in Berlin during the Art Deco era.
