Description

Unadorned Biedermeier box made of birch veneer from Southern Germany, circa 1830.

• Ebony strips inserted along the sides.
• Ebonized diamond as a key escutcheon and a black protruding base
• Body in oak, base plate in softwood.
• Original box lock (spring not working, could be repaired).
• Brass hinges.
• Restored condition, hand-polished with shellac (french polish).
