Description

Elaborate sewing box, thick walnut veneer on cherry solid wood.

  • Lid with central birch root inlay.
  • Ebony and maple inlays on the cover single and double on the base.
  • A horn button at the top in front. Ebonized key plate. Original lock with key.
  • Inside cherry horn buttons and ebonized wood.
  • Restored condition with shellac hand-polish (French polish).
  • In the center there is a compartment with small removable drawers with a lid made of walnut and an ebonized board with a gold-embossed decorative wreath and lyre in the corners.
  • There are 3 small drawers in the middle. Ebonized board, engraved with the name “Philipp Ginzel” and a gold-plated decorative wreath with lyre. Veneered on mirror-image cherry tree on the bottom inside.
