Description

Unique, octagonal (eight-sided) Bauhaus / Art Deco Box from Austria, Vienna, circa 1920.

  • Sides in solid ash wood.
  • Lid veneered in walnut with star inlay in maple and mahogany.
  • Base slightly projecting with rounded, ebonized edge. 
  • Standing on eight round brass balls at the bottom. 
  • Lined inside with dark blue velvet and cord trim. An oval mirror in the center of the lid’s interior.
  • Original brass lock, hinges, and small hardware. 2 keys included. 
  • Restored, hand-polished with shellac.
